Postcard from Belgrade, Boem Bar

Skadarlija is one of the oldest and most beautiful streets in Belgrade. In addition to the beautiful cobblestones, lighting, and the ambience itself, it is also adorned with a very large number of restaurants. The street that exudes the spirit of old Belgrade, carries memories and preserves a significant part of the past. Songs and stories have been written about this street, Skadarlija is one of the important sights of this city. This street carries the spirit of bohemian life, the street where the famous Serbian brandy flows, while you can hear the sound of tambourines and hears only song and joy. Everything that is happening in Skadarska Street is part of the former tavern and bohemian spirit. It is almost 400 meters long and with its appearance it managed to maintain the authentic look it has always had - cobblestones, characteristic of this part of the city. You can't miss the cafes, which complete the image of Skadarlija with their appearance, and some of them have been here for more than 150 years. Skadarlija has always been considered a place where great and distinguished personalities from the world of art gathered, many painters, writers, poets, journalists, politicians came here. People of all faiths, looks, beliefs and years were in the taverns and there were no divisions - here in Skadarlija, everyone was equal. Many stories were spread, the founding first newspapers and political parties. Coming to one of the local cafes was a real relief, a place to think and be inspired. Today, Skadarska Street is a real attraction and attracts a large number of tourists from all over the world.

My favorite place is called "Boem Bar" and it`s trademark is this beautiful old red car. If you ever come in Belgrade this street is something you must see and expirience.

With love,

Ivana
